Caring for your Bamboo Flooring |

When you get bamboo flooring, you actually make two kinds of investments - you invest your time and you invest your money. Obviously, before one gets new flooring, it is expected that he or she will do the necessary homework and research the product before investing in the product. One should learn about the basics of the product, about the manufacturers of the product, and from where to buy it.

Now once the investment has been made, and you have the new bamboo flooring installed, there is one more thing you got to do. And that is to take proper care of the floor. It is one thing to be happy and satisfied with the newly laid floor, but it is different to have that same satisfaction a few years down the line. You will only get value for your money if the floor lasts in prime condition for years. And for that you will need to be more active in the maintenance of the floor.

The good thing about maintaining a bamboo floor is that you will not need to put in a lot of effort into it.

Be Careful With the Furniture

While moving or rearranging your furniture make sure that you don't drag it on the floor, or the furniture legs can leave scratches on the floor. That is one thing which is certainly not desirable. You can also put some padding under the legs to be doubly sure.

Standing Water: A Strict No-No

Wood doesn't go well with standing water or in fact, with any kind of liquids. At the same time it is unreasonable to think that no one will ever spill anything on to the floor. You have to accept that, but you shouldn't let the water or the liquid to settle there. Immediately wipe it off and your floor will remain as good as new.

Dirt and Grit: Worst Enemies

The biggest enemies that bamboo flooring can have are dirt and grit. They can produce multiple scratches over years and can leave your floor in a pretty bad condition within two or three years. You must clean the floor regularly with soft bristled vacuum cleaners and brushes.
